A Love Note To The High-Achiever

Dearest Fellow High-Achiever,

I admire your passion to seek

I appreciate your tenacity to never give up

I love your belief in the good

And your desire for more

Your courage is self-evident

Your effort is appreciated

Your commitment to excellence

Is a blessing in itself

But Dearest High-Achiever

Always remember this

As you commit to your Greatness

Keep these truths in your heart

You are already whole

You are already complete

You are already loved

Based on who you already are

Your effort is not about proving

Your life is not a test

Your life is a gift to be honored

And enjoyed

Know that your worth comes from within

And that your work is a natural extension

Of who you already are

You, your love in action

Thank you thank you thank you!

I feel so grateful for this gracious gift of your poetry.

My close friends tell me I can be so hard on myself. It’s something I’m now aware of and need to move into more grace for myself.

    thanks for this 🙂

Hi Court! Yes, I wrote this poem from personal experience. I tend to be overly critical of myself too. But I see now that my self-critical nature represents my deeper desire to want to always help improve the situation. The trick is to see what I can improve without judging or attacking myself. The judgement is what has caused me pain. So now, I am more mindful of my inner self-critic. When I hear that negative voice in my head, I thank her for her feedback and make the conscious decision in that moment to be good to myself. It’s def a process. Sending you so much love and grace on your journey! <3
